Retraction Policy

Universal Journal

Purpose

Universal Journal is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of the scholarly record. This Retraction Policy describes the procedures for correcting the published literature when significant errors or research misconduct are identified.

Grounds for Retraction

A published article may be retracted if there is clear evidence of:

Plagiarism.
Data fabrication.
Data falsification.
Duplicate publication.
Unethical research practices.
Copyright infringement.
Serious methodological errors that invalidate the findings.
Manipulated images or figures.
Citation manipulation.
Undisclosed conflicts of interest that compromise the integrity of the publication.

Retraction Process

When a potential issue is identified:

The Editorial Office conducts a preliminary assessment.
The corresponding author is contacted and invited to provide an explanation.
Additional evidence may be requested from the author(s), reviewers, or affiliated institution(s).
The Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board evaluate all available information.
A final editorial decision is made based on the evidence.

Retraction Notice

When an article is retracted:

The original article will remain available as part of the scholarly record.
The article will be clearly marked as Retracted.
A Retraction Notice explaining the reason for the retraction will be published.
The Retraction Notice will be linked to the original article.

Article Corrections

If the issue does not invalidate the overall findings, the Journal may publish:

Correction
Erratum
Corrigendum
Expression of Concern

instead of a full retraction.

Author Cooperation

Authors are expected to cooperate fully during investigations and provide accurate information when requested by the Editorial Office.

Failure to cooperate may result in editorial action based on the available evidence.

Editorial Responsibilities

Editors shall:

Conduct investigations fairly.
Maintain confidentiality.
Avoid conflicts of interest.
Base decisions solely on documented evidence.
Protect the integrity of the scholarly record.

Institutional Cooperation

Where appropriate, the Journal may communicate with the authors' institutions, funding agencies, or other relevant organizations during investigations.

Integrity of the Scholarly Record

Retractions are intended to correct the scientific literature rather than punish authors.

Universal Journal is committed to ensuring that readers receive accurate and trustworthy scholarly information.

Policy Review

This Retraction Policy may be revised periodically to reflect international best practices in scholarly publishing and publication ethics.
