1. Purpose

Universal Journal recognizes that Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) technologies can assist authors, reviewers, and editors in scholarly publishing. This policy establishes the responsible, ethical, and transparent use of AI-assisted technologies in accordance with international publishing standards.

2. Scope

This policy applies to:

Authors
Editors
Reviewers
Editorial Board Members
Publisher

3. Acceptable Use

Authors may use AI only for:

Language improvement
Grammar correction
Translation
Formatting
Programming assistance

The author remains fully responsible for:

Originality
Accuracy
Interpretation
Scientific conclusions
References

4. Disclosure

Authors must disclose the use of AI in their manuscript.

Example:

During the preparation of this manuscript, the author used ChatGPT solely for language editing. The author reviewed and takes full responsibility for the final content.

5. AI Cannot Be an Author

Artificial Intelligence systems including ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, DeepSeek, or any similar technologies shall not be listed as authors or co-authors.

6. Prohibited Uses

The following are prohibited:

Fabricating research data
Fabricating citations
Fabricating references
Manipulating scientific results
Undisclosed AI-generated content

7. Policy for Reviewers

Reviewers must not upload confidential manuscripts into public AI systems.

All manuscripts remain confidential throughout the peer-review process.

8. Policy for Editors

Editors shall make all editorial decisions independently.

AI shall not determine manuscript acceptance or rejection.

9. Research Integrity

Universal Journal follows internationally recognized principles of research integrity.

Any misuse of AI may result in:

Rejection
Correction
Retraction
Notification of the author's institution where appropriate

10. Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed periodically to reflect advances in artificial intelligence and scholarly publishing.
