Data Sharing and Reproducibility Policy

Universal Journal encourages authors to make the data supporting their research findings openly available whenever possible. Data sharing promotes transparency, reproducibility, and scientific integrity.

1. Purpose

This policy aims to promote openness, transparency, and reproducibility in scholarly research by encouraging authors to share research data whenever legally and ethically possible.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all manuscripts submitted to Universal Journal, regardless of discipline.

3. Data Availability Statement

Authors are encouraged to include a Data Availability Statement within their manuscript indicating where the data supporting the findings can be accessed.

Examples:

  • The data are publicly available in an institutional or public repository.
  • The data are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.
  • Data cannot be shared because of ethical, legal, or confidentiality restrictions.

4. Recommended Repositories

Authors are encouraged to deposit datasets in recognized repositories appropriate to their discipline whenever possible.

5. Reproducibility

Authors should provide sufficient methodological details, software information, datasets, and supplementary materials to enable other researchers to reproduce the reported results whenever feasible.

6. Ethical and Legal Considerations

Data sharing must comply with applicable laws, institutional policies, privacy regulations, and ethical standards. Personal or confidential information must be appropriately protected.

7. Editorial Policy

Editors may request access to supporting data during peer review if necessary to verify research findings.

8. Exceptions

Exceptions may be granted when data sharing would violate privacy, confidentiality agreements, national security regulations, or intellectual property rights.

9. Compliance

Failure to provide requested supporting data without valid justification may result in rejection of the manuscript or further editorial investigation.

10. International Standards

Universal Journal supports international best practices in research transparency and reproducibility and encourages compliance with recognized research integrity standards.
